  8. The quality criteria for validated analytical methods for sampling, identification and characterisation of primary smoke products, as referred to in point 4 of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 2065/2003, shall be as set out in the Annex to this Regulation.
  9. An intermediate check shall be carried out by placing in the smoke chamber a screen representing a gas whose known light-absorption coefficient k, measured as described in paragraph 3.5.1, is between 1,6 m-1 and 1,8 m-1. The value of k must be known to within 0,025 m-1.
  10. For the purposes of applying Article 22 of Regulation (EC) No 247/2006, ‘local manufacture of tobacco products’ means any operation carried out in the Canary Islands aimed at processing the products listed in Annex VIII to this Regulation into manufactured products ready to smoke.
